Lab Mission Statement
Established in 1997, the Rahme Laboratory aims to develop alternative, novel strategies to combat bacterial infections caused by recalcitrant pathogens, prevent infections, and potentiate host defense. The Lab is committed to training the next generation of innovative scientists and building a diverse environment that prioritizes research integrity, excellence, and teamwork.
The Lab is committed to a One Health approach that recognizes that people's health is connected to the health of animals and the environment. We employ vertebrate and non-vertebrate hosts to study fundamental molecular mechanisms that underlie the antagonistic interaction between the pathogen and the host with the ultimate goal to combat human, animal, and plant infections.
The Rahme Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, resides on the ancestral and unceded lands of the Naumkeag, Massachusett and Pawtucket people.
